G-INEWS, NEW DELHI : The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially revised the schedule for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination. The adjustments primarily involve a slight shortening of the overall exam window and a specific rescheduling for candidates in West Bengal due to regional festivities.

Specific Update for West Bengal Candidates
In response to multiple representations from students and the West Bengal state government, the NTA has confirmed that no exams will be conducted in West Bengal on January 23, 2026.
- The Reason: The date coincides with Saraswati Puja and the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, both of which are significant cultural and public events in the state.
- The Solution: Candidates who were originally assigned to West Bengal centers on January 23 will be redistributed to other available dates within the January 21–29 window. Affected students should keep a close watch on the official website for their updated city intimation slips and admit cards.

As of January 17, 2026, the NTA has activated the login portal for admit cards, with hall tickets expected to be released in batches.
- For Jan 21–23 exams: Admit cards are expected by late tonight or tomorrow.
- For Jan 24–29 exams: Downloads will likely open by January 19.
Candidates can download their documents from the official portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in using their application number and date of birth.
Important Note: The “City Intimation Slip” already released is not the Admit Card. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the actual Admit Card and a valid Photo ID to the exam center.
