The prestigious two-month, research-focused fellowship will run from May 18 to July 17, 2026, offering students from Engineering, Sciences, Humanities, and Management an opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects under the mentorship of IIT Madras faculty.
The programme is aimed at encouraging bright and motivated students to explore academic research at one of India’s top institutes and gain hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary research environment.

The IITM Summer Fellowship 2026 is open to the following categories of students:
3rd-year undergraduate students (BE/BTech/BSc Engineering or 3-year BSc)
3rd or 4th-year Integrated/Dual-degree Master’s students
1st-year MSc, MA, or MBA students with strong academic records
Note: Students currently enrolled at any IIT are not eligible to apply.
